Muchachos

Surprised nobogy has asked this before, but has anyone compared a full spec Sondek ( Akiva / Ekos 2/ Lingo 2 etc ) against the King of the Silver discs?

THAT would be interesting reading....any takers?

BTW, if someone thinks that their pet LP12 combo is top spec fine - lets hear some thoughts

Regards

Mike

I am using LP12/aro/armgd/prefix/hicap/benz-ace and cds2. No brainer, the LP12 is the the clear winner by a big margin. Sad but true.

P does raise a fair point. I could easily narrow the gap between my TT and CD by putting the TT on something that doesn't suit it as well. This is one of the reasons why the whole thing is subjective and debatable.

Naim must have a view on how close they have got but since they don't make TT's, you can't expect them to directly comment. Most telling will be the time we see a number of big record collections for sale in the Salisbury area....

If that time comes I hope they'll give us first dibs.

With the gap closing between LP12/CDS3 closing, or now far too subjective, (not that it wasnt before!)those lucky people to have these sources now should have no problem in worrying if a new album is not released on vinyl!!

I have heard the CDS3 a few times and it's bloody good. Haven't demmed an LP12 back to back, but I think Ron the moon's comments about the consistency of the CD as opposed to the variable nature of some ropey LP's is worth baring in mind.

Just realised too my cartridge is knackered, bugger! I am skint!
