Serial numbers

Chaps

Last night I completely rearranged tthe front room/hi-fi racks, which meant I got the chance to look at the serial numbers of all my Naim gear and check them against the list on the main Naim site.
hus, I know the Hi-Cap was manufactured in 2001, the 62 in 1991, but my NAP160 doesn't appear to have a number. Does this mean a serial no. plate has falllen off, or is there some other way of identifying the amp (maybe by llooking inside). it's a "new style" NAP160 by the way, with olive green fascia.

Kevin,

the NAP 160 was discontinued in 1986 so was never sold new with the olive-green fascia. It's obviously been cosmetically updated at some point but without the serial number it's impossible to know the details.

If the serial number plate is missing from the back of the unit then the next place to look is under the transformer where it should be engraved into the chassis.
