Naim 32 Phono inputs? 100uV? 2mV?

Is the Naim 32 equiped with mm phono inputs?
On the back it has two sets of phono inputs, one set has a sensitivity of 100uV and the other has 2mV, what are these for?

Mathew,

According to my old Naim catalogue, the 2mV input is for MM and should be connected internally to a 322 MM phone board (removable board).

The 100microvolt input assumes that you have a 323 K (designed especially for the Linn Karma cartridge) or S low output MC (Moving Coil) board fitted.

I'm not a 100% on the 32 as I have never had one, but I'm 99% certain that the boards can be removed or replaced by almost any of the range of boards for the 3-series (322/323/328/328) depending on what you want to use it for.

I suggest you take the cover off and have a careful look inside, and report back with the numbers on the boards. It never made much sense to me to have two phono input options (i.e. MM AND MC) but I suppose it did to Naim at the time.

Merry Christmas ...

Well Matt, it looks like you have enough to be getting on with there, you can choose between either a MM or MC cartidge.

I'm not sure about the other boards, theres plenty of folk here who will know however. You did'nt say which 323's they were (K or S), but the 324's boards are for tape buffering (I believe)

Ah, just found the perfect answer elsewhere on the forum - have a look at this.

NA323 K/S Phono MC
NA322 MM Phono
NA326 Fixed Line Input (link board)
NA328 Variable Level Line input with some HF filtering
NA324 Tape Output Buffer
NA321 Main Gain, Output Drive
NA325 Switch on relay
NA729 Time-Aligned input buffer boards - AKA 72 Filter Boards

Howzat !! (and heresthe link)
