England's World Cup bid

What a major poke in the eye that was. Completely absurd in fact. 1966 would have been mentioned far more than I'd have wanted to hear but it would have been a first class tournament in a real football country with guaranteed full houses in first class stadia. The best TV coverage, if not commentary, and the games would have been played at sociable times in pleasant conditions.
No logic to this decision whatsoever.

Why the f%$# would/should they be given free stays at the Dorchester in the first place? WTF?

Precisely. And I bet few people in London knew anything about it. His hissy fit has exposed him as a hypocrite who's as corrupt as the rest.

Yes reassuringly so, well done Boris

Yes well done Boris for playing the game, then complaining only because it didn't work.

Yes indeed. We would have heard nothing had such tactics worked, which is perhaps a more accurate reflection of the whole sorry process.
