A sad mac head that i am i ordered my copy of OSX 10.4 from the apple store to arrive on the day of release... But im gobsmacked to learn that so did over 150 others in my Small Town!
How do I know i hear you cry... Well to cut along story short the TNT man arrived today in a hired Van. He told me that TNT had so many to deliver that they had hired extra vans and drivers, He had 150 to deliver in my area alone!

Anyway, hopefully ill get to load my copy this evening and im hoping it will be all its cracked upto be.. if not me and 149 of my neighbours will be disappointed!

Congrats Hawk!

Hey, if it's 150 punters in your little corner of the Home Counties, I'd equate that to about a million in London, right?? Big Grin

Cheers,

Just ordered my copy, handily wrapped in a nice dual 2.7GHz G5 with lotsa toys*...

A real exciting moment for a sad spod like me, tarnished only by the realisation that I can't claim back the VAT via my umbrella company. Bugger.

John

* including an iSight. Gary, you're the only iSight owner I know. Once my beastie arrives we must have a blether. Email me offboard at my gmail email address (jtcedinburgh at etc.)

People who celebrate the release of an OS strike me as rather tragic cases.... Roll Eyes

Indeed, especially if they think needing a new one every 10 minutes is a good thing...

Spotlight is the real killer part of this upgrade. Gone are the days of navigating through folders. Most items are found even before you finish typing!

I installed on 5 machines (upgrade) and every one went very smoothly (4 year ibook500 up to new G5). Can't say it's ever been that easy upgarding client machines to a new OS on Windoze.

Tidy!

Dialogue boxes and general performance is much nippier. I like the new mail.
