Goldfrapp "Supernature"

I saw that this CD got top score for both the music and the recording in the last Hi-fi News and I bought it yesterday (well, usually I read other music magazines when I'm looking for new music to buy...). In fact, it was a copy-protected CD, and to me the sound quality was far from excellent (many songs sound a bit flat). I know this CD also exists in a SACD hybrid version. Has anybody checked the differences between the CD layer of these two versions? Does copy-protected CD's always sound a bit so so.
