Royd Abbott

Future considerations....

I was entertaining new speakers awhile back, I held to the Kan's, cause the Nait was a bit weak for most, and if not, then the price was not justified by the performance increase.

One if the contenders was the Royd Abbott, while I liked what I heard, my trusty Nait1 was not up to the task, so it ended there. Now that I have a 160, I was wondering what opinions are on them. Being out of production opinions would hold a bit more weight, being the demo would now be a bit harder to pull off.

The Abbot is actually a very strong performer. One of its best qualities is "boogie"; it really captures the rhythm of the music.

I've heard it a bunch of times now, and I'm always impressed with it. It seems to work fine with a Cambridge A500, and I've also heard it driven by an Exposure integrated, and a NAP250. I believe that Robert Fulton at Stewarts in Toronto still has a walnut pair in stock, if you want to hear them.
