HDX & iPod/Phone App
Posted by: SC on 21 August 2009
Well, finally...it's coming !
If I hadn't of seen a software engineer in a lab coat (whose name escapes me, apologies) holding/demoing it with my own eyes yesterday, I wouldn't have believed it !!
Along with the imminent software update, it finally seems the HDX is getting there....And now, I can blow the cobwebs off my HDX money pot !

One quick question back to Naim, which I failed to ask at the time after asking schedule, was if software for the App has now been written, will this (or can it) be extended to native Apple support for the HDX desktop software anytime soon...??

Very good news. I am assured by news like this that the waiting will be worthwhile.

This was a great surprise - excellent. Looks like it will be finished by November, before being sent to Apple for approval and posting on the AppStore - a nice New Year's present?
No comment about if it is going to be a free download or if it's chargeable.
But it will probably be available before Apple put Flash on the iPhone!

Just to give you Mac users a sense of where things are–there's quite a few engineers in Naim R&D who use Mac laptops, etc., so the notion of Mac support for NaimUniti / HDX et al is not a fleeting consideration by any means.
Over here, the Naim contingent at ASL Group, as well as many of our retailers, are Mac users (and are often seen running various Windows apps virtualized).
So, you're not alone–and we are looking out for you!
(The HDX app, by the way, works a treat.)

Will there be a version for Android as well?
