iTunes video problems

Posted by: Bosh on 25 January 2009

I've spent a lot of time trying to get some video clips to play in the latest version of iTunes to no avail. I tried new conversions a some that I know played ok a couple of years ago on earlier versions of itunes including trying 4 different conversion programmes

It wasnt until I downloaded some video Podcasts for a 24hr coach journey that I found whilst these wont play on iTunes either they play OK on his Nano and my Video iPod. Uploaded the other videos and found they also work OK on the iPod

ANy suggestions? Is there a bug in iTunes or some simple video settings issue ?

Sadly you have failed to mention what you are running itunes on.

assuming its a PC I would suggest reinstalling quicktime (itunes needs quicktime for its components)

Yeah, try re-installing Quicktime and perhaps iTunes itself. On my mac, I also needed a thing called "flip4mac" to run WMVs.

Re-installed iTunes and Quicktime on but still no joy. Get a green background with flickering red diagonal lines

No problems at all on my 1.6GHz dual core laptop. Unfortunately all my 1500 cds and 500 albums including covers are on the PC

Is the PC just too slow (3GHz Pentium/500Mb ram) or is there a bug/setting issue
