Blue tak??

Posted by: garyi on 05 January 2002

According to a hi fi mag I was reading today (the one with the allae review) naim recommend cleanig the inside of a CDS (therefore presumably the CDi) with blue tak, including the lens !?!?!?

Can someone confirm or deny, I thought you shouldn't touch that even under duress, let alone with a sticky pliable heavy substance.

The CD Manual suggests that you:
quote:

Take a piece of Blu-tak and lightly apply it to the top surface of the magnetic hub, picking up any material attached to it. Brush the plastic outer edge lighty withyour finger or a soft brush to ensure that it is dust and particle free.

Similarly, clean the clamp with Blu-tak, to remove debris from the three locating pins on it's underside, but take care not to damage the rubber pads. Brush them lighty with your finger or a soft cloth.

No mention of going near to the lens with any substance, sticky ortherwise razz
