Used Gear in Canada

Posted by: Paul B on 25 March 2001

Anyone know if there is a website (?) for used Naim gear for sale in Canada/USA? (I just put in an order for a 52 so will have my 102 up for sale shortly.)

My apologies if I have broken the forum rules by mentioning this.

I usually by through Audioweb. It has been very successful for me but always take care with units that may need refurbishment.

There is also a good Naim shop in Montreal which I liked very much.

Try www.canuckaudiomart.com

I think it is a relatively new site, so any support would be welcome.

I think it was called Audioville, but Im not sure. It is only about 10 mins from Decarie. I saw it in one of the French HiFi magazines. they gave me a nice demo of a CDX and a 3.5. this was about a year ago.

Edwin,

There are 2 Naim dealers on the island of Montreal: Codell, near Decarie boulevard and Ferrier, and Lingot, a new Naim dealer on Papineau street. Audioville does not stock Naim.

I have had very good service from Lingot. Spot on in all their recommendations and excellent after-sales follow-up. They frequently have used Naim gear. Email me if you need more info.

I know it's UK based but I recently sold some NAC-A5 there and had one email asking if I'd courier it to the USA and one asking if I'd courier it to Italy so it obviously does get some non UK readers. It's free so may be worth giving it a whirl. You'd prob have to make it clear in the ad that you were based in Canada though.

Hi!

Don't know if selling to the UK/europe is that easy - europe has 220 (240)V/60Hz - North America 110V/50Hz - power supplies should be different.

Thanks for the information, gentlemen.

Stefano is correct, the preamps do not require a voltage change as they derive power from a Hicap/Supercap.

I am presently awaiting my 52. When it arrives the 102 will be up for grabs. Email me if interested.

Although they are not Naim dealers, the Audio Centre in Montreal maintains a forum on their web site where you can post items for sale or wanted. URL is www.audiocentre.com. Go to the bottom right of the home page to find the link to the forum.

If you're looking for used Naim gear, Codell maintains a list of used and demo equipment on their site www.codellaudio.com. Audio Club, a former Naim dealer www.audioclub.com, also sometimes has used Naim gear.

Cheers,
