New vinyl
Posted by: DJH on 15 June 2005
I've been picking up a lot of secondhand vinyl recently - mainly classical and free jazz - and am wondering if there are good and reliable sources of quality recordings on fresh new vinyl?

Depending on your musical tastes, and where in Cheshire you reside, you could try Probe Records in Liverpool (mainly rock/punk etc). Or buy off the internet. I've used Diverse Vinyl before and they seem to stock a wide variety of musical styles. http://www.diversevinyl.com

Picadilly Records In Manchester has a good range of indie, rock and and dance vinyl. For instance.

For classical jazz, take a look at http://www.fantasyjazz.com. They have a few things left on vinyl, and the price is definitely right for vinyl (10 bucks) or CD (12). Not exactly "fresh and new", but sealed in cellophane 20-30 years ago and waiting for a good home.
