Dead cartridge - help needed

A friend just destroyed his Benz Gold. He has a Clearaudio Evolution with RB300. He's looking for a replacement cartridge. The rest of the system is Musical Fidelity XLPS, Audio Research preamp (tubed), Krell power amp (80w model, about 15-20 years old) and some Martin Logan speakers.

He's wondering about upgrading the cartridge, or the arm and cartridge. One option he's thinking about is a Rohmann and a Morch UP4. The cheapest option he's considering so far is the Kontrapunkt A.

Is there anybody out there that has an idea of what would be synergistically good in his context ?
