Help needed with images on this web site

Posted by: Mike Hughes on 21 February 2004

In work and at home I am on IE6. At home I also use Opera. Regardless of what I use, a substantial number of images on this site are replaced with a red circle with a diagonal red line through it. As far as I can tell (through right-clicking) or recall they are all bitmaps although I could be wrong. The images I refer to are only those which appear in posts.

I have no such problem on any other sites I visit (and there are a lot of them) so, could some kind person(s) tell me what I should be altering to sort this out and download all those nice images of sistems etc?

Thanks,

Mike.

Actually, have just gotten home and discovered that logging in doesn't fix anything with Opera as my browser so... any further suggestions?

I'm using the new Mozilla firefox browser and I also have problems with uploaded images. In Sean2's example above I can see the linked image, but not the uploaded one. If I look at the page source and find the URL of the image then I can open that in another window. And yes I am logged in.

No progress I'm afraid. Opera is set up just fine but I can log in and within the same thread some images are there and some are not. Interestingly, I tried the same thread with IE6 and it showed up exactly the same.

Any clues anybody? It's a bit frustrating knowing that other people can see things you can't. Is this a forum software issue rather than a browser issue?

Mike,
looking at some of the images sent in on the "Show Thyself" thread, you may be a lot more luckier than you think, don't press to hard for the solution!! Wink

Okay I got it - after logging on, even though the page is displayed again, with the red circles, one needs to reload the page Roll Eyes
