TV speakers

I use my surround set-up with a projector, however I also have a small 26" LCD TV that I casually watch DVD's on. I would like to add a couple of speakers to improve the TV sound. I thought about Acoustic Energy Aego M (2.1) or the Audioengine A2. I would feed these from the headphone out on the TV. Does anybody have any experience of either system, or can anyone suggest alternatives? Thanks.

Apparently not then!

Where is the LCD in relation to your HT setup?
If close by, why not hook into your HT amps?

I am lucky in that my tv is in a recessed fireplace and the projector screen can roll down the wall hiding the tv.

Hi PJT,

Thanks for the input. My TV is in the same room as the projector, but in a corner to one side of the screen. Consequently it's not possible to use the same sound system as for the main set-up. My surround receiver does have the facility to drive a second stereo pair of speakers, and I did consider using this option but frankly it would result in a lot of messy wiring and make the system a bit cumbersome to use. I've plumped for the little AE speakers + sub and these give an enjoyable sound fed from the headphone out jack (in order to get remote controlled volume adjustment) of the TV. Best option is obviously to have the TV sited at the same location as the cinema screen as you have done - just not possible here!

Peter
