42.5 to 72

Ladies and Gents,

Does anyone know if k boards from a 42.5 will fit straight into a 72 that as far as i know has only ever been used for cd from new. I've read somewhere that there is a jumper wire that may need to be cut.

Cheers

Andy

Thanks Patrick,

I'm hoping to pick up the 72 today and also the wife is going xmas shopping. Should be a good day for spinning the old black stuff without any added background noises.

The 72 is now installed. WOW!
I took the 42.5 with me to compare with the 72 as the seller was happy to do a demo.
First we listened to the 72 for about 15 mins then we changed to the 42.5 and then immediatly went back to the 72. The poor old 42.5 was beaten well into submission.
I paid the man his money and hurried home. Now with K boards fitted and about three hours of playing behind me i can easily say i am as happy as a pig in s**t(no offense meant Mr Pig)
Time to play another record i think!

nice one. Great to read the venerable 72 is still appreciated as the fine preamp it really is.

I just replaced an '86 32-5 (never serviced) with a '94 72 and the improvement was quite nice--smoother, tighter, less veiled, more neutral. The 32-5 is a phenomenal value at $275 plus or minus, but the 72 is worth the extra $325 plus or minus if you've got it. Maybe the difference would be mitigated by servicing the 32-5.
