Speaker cable for AV rears

Posted by: Jez Quigley on 21 January 2004

I have a Yamaha E800 AV amp for centre (an old Yamaha centre spkr soon to be replaced) and Epos14s as rears, 135s power the front L&R Briks.

At present I have some 'bell wire' running to the Epos 14s (it was the only stuff I had to hand that was long enough). NACA5 is the natural partner for them of course, but as I can't get it under the floor I need something that will go under the carpet. So can anyone recommend some cable that:
1. Fits under the carpet
2. Is a good partner for the E800 & Epos14s
3. Is not expensive for a 12 metre pair

O my goodness, I want to cry, ES14 as rears...

Sorry Phillip. I did try to sell them a couple of years ago, but they have a little cosmetic damage so no one wanted them. Since then they have been giving service in the kitchen system until I picked up the E800 for £149 a few weeks ago and they were pressed into service as rears.

So, anyone care to suggest suitable cables?

when I wanted something less 'butch' than A5 for my bedroom system, the dealer recommended QED silver anniversary, it's got a clear cover and silver wire inside and is much smaller than A5, sounds fine with the Nait/Kytes.

Thanks Julian, just the kind of response I was hoping for.

Thanks Phil, QED SA was the cable I was thinking of investigating if no one came up with other suggestions.

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a cheap Linn centrik, or suggest another centre suitable for use alongside (between Smile) the briks? It has to be small in height to fit in the rack under the TV.
