George Melly

Chaps

Can any of you recommend a good George Melly CD or even LP.

I have seen him on stage more times than I can care to remember and really love his stuff.

However, the quality of the CD's that I have are diabolical and before you ask, they are not pirated, they came from WH Smith. They sound like they were recorded in the 1950's. Really flat and grotty.

If you can name a few I would be grateful.

Regards

Melly is not in the Brightman class; best avoided.

I would go to amazon and ask.

There's a live CD that looks promising near the top of the search, and two Castle releases from the last year (presumably of old material, but who knows).

All I know about George Melly is that he once promised to eat his hat to promote some hifi company.

(The list of artists also bought by Melly purchasers includes 'Pink Floyd'. Now that's a surreal Friday morning thought)
