tuner voodoo with Nait3

Hi,
I am currently experiencing funny effects when plugging my old Creek T40 into an far more recent Nait3 (cables used: Reson, Phonosophie, Chord Chrysalis).
With all the cables mentioned above I get different volume levels on both channels, meaning: one channel is much louder than the other (I have to turn the Balance knob to a "quarter-to-nine"-position to get even volume levels). No matter which type of socket I use (RCA/DIN). the phanomenon stays.
Now, the funny thing is, when I connect the tuner to an old NAD amp, there is no problem.
I had the tuner already serviced by the manufacturer, so it should be OK.
The cables show no problems when connecting a CD-Player to the Nait, so they should be OK, too.
What happens here? Is the Nait3 rejecting the tuner? And if so, how does he do that? And, most importantly, can this be fixed?
