Supernait Upgrade Options

Hi. I am new to the forum, so please excuse any naivity or stupidity.

I used to have a large Naim setup, CDS2/52/135's/SBL's. Loved the sound. I disposed of it some years ago as the new range appeared, and my requirements changed. I went to Meridian for a while, but returned to the fold last year with a SuperNait.

My uses for the SN are now purely digital. I have three sources connected digitally directly to the SN. Sky HD, Blue Ray, and Apple TV. Music is played off of the ATV in AAC for convenience, or streamed from an iMAC in WAV form for quality. The main use for the system is off of Sky TV every evening. Speakers are Harbeth Monitor 30, which deal with speech and midrange superbly, and I'm delighted with them.

So my question. I believe the Harbeths could use more power, and want to use a 250. I also want to put a hicap onto the SN. Looking at the forum, and the manuals, I'm struggling to get a clear picture of whether this is possible. The manual only shows a hicap connected, and a 200 as a possible connection biamped or via a hicap, but not a 250. So can this be done? And does anybody recommend this or an alternative route? ie Go to a DAC/Pre/HC/250 solution? But I need the box and remote count minimised.

Any thoughts gratefully received. Thank you.

hope you enjoy you new found system. what are monitor 30s?

r-tee, sorry, monitor 30's are Harbeth Monitor 30s. I bought these a year ago as it became clear that my living room system was being used more for TV and movies than for music, and thus the human voice part of the mid range was most important to me in that room. To my ears, having tried everything I could think of, these did the job better than anything else, they just need some welly to make music come alive when I do want music in that room.
I have a separate music system in another room based around vinyl.

r-tee, one other thing, I agree with you about 'neatness' of the look. I only have the SN and 250 in the rack on view, I put the hicap on a second small table behind the system, it stays on permanently anyway, so why have to look at it all the time and worry if all the badges line up. Red Face)

chris i was thinking of gettng a hi-cap and doing exactly as you say, hide it. do you use the standard cables between all the boxes?

and if your after human voice accuracy you should try the WB arcs i just posted a thread on them. they can be made into a (rather expensive) 5.1 system

r-tee, yes standard cables. The HC only came with one, and I bought the other off of ebay, and the 250 came with it's cables. I turn the HC with it's back to the kit behind the rack so the cables have a straight run, then reach over, turn it on, and forget it.
Thanks re the arc's, but might be a bit rich for me right now, am already 3k down for 250 and hc, but when the bug strikes again I'll give them a try.
