102 duff DIN ?

anyone had this problem.
I bought a Hicap this weekend and connecting it to my NAC102 I found that I cannot fully engage the DIN plug ? (yes its in the correct socket !) THe 102 powers up fine and plays wonderfully, but I am worried that the poor connection may lead to damage ? its fairly firm and should not fall out, but is this strange or not ?
