HD Channels

Posted by: Lark on 04 June 2008

Hi

I have just seen ITV is going to broadcast HD on something I didn't fully catch/ hear freestat or something, BBC does HD etc, so how do you receive these channels? If you have a standard SKY box, do you need to upgrade to a SKY HD box to get the ITV or BBC HD feeds or do you need the new box for just the SKY HD channels? Basically can I get any HD feeds without upgrading from standard SKY to SKY hD?

Cheers

Just got a nice letter from Sky with their rubbish TV listings magazine letting me know my subscription is going up another £2 a month.
The sooner recordable Freesat HD comes about the better. Hopefully other channels will join it. If anything it might make Sky think twice about it's monopoly and reduce their prices.

Well, supposedly Humax will be launching their HD recorder next month...or maybe even this month!

Great news! my Bloody Sky HD box is starting to play up again (number three so far) - gives the message "No Satellite signal being received" so you have to keep switching it off & on.

I really can't face another 'phone call to Sky.

PS, did you get my E-mail Stuart?

My Sky+ has just started this too. I wouldn't mind if they had some way off transferring your recorded data and planner.

What's the model number for the Humax box? Is it a PVR?
