Trading Post

Does it worry anyone else that the separate Naim dealers' and distributors' site has produced only 80 topics and 198 posts, the last of which was posted on 24 Jan 2005? We punters seem to exceed that most days.

But wouldn't it be fun to hack into the site and see what they're saying about us?

G,

It appears that an opportunity is being missed by the Naim dealers and distributors - and perhaps by Naim.

I am fully aware of the buying/selling rules for the forum. It does occur however, that the Trading Post could be used to better advantage.

Were it opened up to the forum it would allow the dealers and distributors to publish their second hand items to a wider and potentially more receptive audience. For example I know my local dealer has a couple of olive boxes in his second hand bin - they could have a doting owner if they were known about.

I doubt that I am alone in being challenged for choice of sources because of my geographical location. It is not easy to find second hand Naim - yes there's ebay and PFM, but I am sure that for many people the box they are searching for is probably gracing the shelves of a Naim dealer. In addition, such a box would come if not with a provenance, certainly it would have a dealer guarantee.

I appreciate that there would be no direct financial advantage for Naim, other than servicing for example, but it could promote a wider appreciation of Naim's offering and certainly start people out on the upgrade path to the new range - at which point the financial advantage for Naim would arrive.

Just a thought

I agree this place needs a market!
But I understand why there isn't one; it would put Naim dealers without an Internet presence at a distinct disadvantage.

Basil,

Neither you nor I have an internet presence yet we are able to post our thoughts on the forum. (please excuse the assumption there)

Surely this would be way for all Naim dealers and distributors to promote their second hand wares separate to any internet presence they do or do not have. I see this as an advantage.
