Was today's the greatest ever FA Cup Final played at the New Wembley?

I don't know about you but I was reaching for the Dulux colour chart at half-time.

I watched the cricket from half time and saw England surrender the initiative.

Oh C'mon they were tired after playing lots of football this season we have to feel for them don't we Roll Eyes

Glad Chelsea won though and stopped Man Utd from another Double and returned the cup to where it belongs in the South. Level with Arsenal still on doubles.

Not the greatest game ever, both teams looked exhausted.

Great result though, and a domestic cup double for Chelsea.

Comon you blues.

That's Saturday taken care of, now for the main course at Twickenham tomorrow. Met up with some friends this morning, all GLAWS supporters and they were hoping for a Tigers truimph in the HC. It seems that no one in this part of the country like the Wasps.

Fell asleep in the first half, watched the second half, cleaned the car out in extra time (5Live) and missed the Drogba goal as I was heading back into the house for the not quite inevitable penalties.

Today's cup final showed evrything that's wrong with football at the highest league.

Contrast this with last night's 2nd leg play-off between Yeovil Town and Nottingham Forest...pure drama from start to finish. If any body missed it - Yeovil trail 2 goals to nil from the frst leg. Yeovil score early in the first half to keep their chances going. NF score to level the match early in the second half. With 10 mins to go, everybody thinks it's all over. Then Yeovil score twice to take it to extra time (3/3 on agg). Yeovil score first early in extra time, then NF equalise 2 mins later. Yeovil score in second half of extra time to win 5/4 on agg (5/2 on the night).

You couldn't make it up, sheer magic.

I case you hadn't guessed we live just outside Yeovil and have already booked our tickets to Wembley next Satuarday Big Grin

Seems incredible, Yeovil Town - a non-league team not so long ago - against a team that has won the European Cup the same number of times as Man Utd, Barcelona and Inter Milan and more times than Arsenal and Chelsea put together! And the ex non-league team won!

Fantastic. I hope you enjoy your day at Wembley Gary, and best of luck to your team.

Thank heaven for the Cup Final! Shopping in Kingston this afternoon was a breeze! And I saw the only goal whilst waiting at John Lewis' customer collections, so saved myself the misery of the preceding 116 minutes!

Paul
I never took you as a Man Utd supporter, & I can't see you munching prawn sandwiches somehow.

Ran out of time Mark. Got hijacked in the lighting department of JL!

To my shame I haven't been in there yet. Is that your regular haunt?

Thanks Mark

It should be a really great experience for the kids (and me!)

I wis them luck, but in a way I hope they don't actually get promoted as they played above their weight to get to the play-offs and will get slaughtered next year if promoted, but we'll support them either way.
