Calexico

Just returned from a small Calexico gig at the Makeout Room in Fan Francisco. They played a few songs from the new record due out in April plus lots of older stuff and an excellent version of Love's Alone agian or. Can't remember the names of the new songs but there appears to be a lot of variety with one sounding almost prog-rock. Can't wait for the release!

Looks like a they're undertaking quite a tour this year, with 3 UK dates. Can't make the Manchester date so maybe next time around, pity, look forward to the new release though.

If you have not picked it up already check out the EP from last year with Iron and Wine, 'In The Reins'. Excellent collaboration.
