Posted by: Jean-Marc on 14 March 2003

Hi,
I have a pair of MC phono boards with my NAC82 and I wanted to know how to recognize their type:

written on it is:
NA523/1
how can I know if they are S, E of K?

Many Thanks

I think if there isn't a sticker on it saying otherwise, they're "S" boards

Nah, 523 are MM boards.

Oops - rewind.

523 *are* MC boards.

S boards don't seem to have any specific markings.

K boards should have a little "K" sticker on them, and I guess the same would be true of E.

Unfortunately, the little stickers fall off very easily over the years. If this is the case I believe you can only tell be the colour-coded stripes on one of the resistors...

cheers, Martin

Thanks for the answers.
There is no stickers at all on these boards (maybe they are too old?). Anyway, I have checked the input resistor (thanks for the tip, Roy) and it is a 560 Ohm, making the boards K type.

Cheers
