What!, you'd rather go see an old fat bloke with back-combed hair and red lipstick, and an old thin bloke with back-combed hair and red lipstick?
Couldn't be fagged, eh?! Arf arf.
You strange boy Jim!

Rasher my lad, the Dylan & Cure tickets were purchased some time ago, whereas I only heard about RA this week, so it was hardly an informed choice. It's just a pity they were all within a few days (and the same fiscal month). Plus like I said, I don't know RA's stuff, and I do find some prior familiarity is advisable for optimal enjoyment of the live experience.

Which all points to the importance of not making the same mistake next time - so which album would make the best intro? Talk on the wire puts him in the Alt.Country bin, with Lambchop & Calexico presumably - both of which I do enjoy already so the portents are promising.

What's all this about back-combed hair? Doesn't sound like either of the Robbies in question, not the slightly shambolic portly one with the birdsnest hair and the lipstick (got that right at least...) and not the supercool pokerfaced dude in the stetson. What can you be on about...?

Contentedly
Jim

Half the time I don't know myself!
I do envy you seeing Dylan in this latest phase. I saw him twice around the late 90's and although he was good then, he would be better now.
RA sways from country music to almost mainstream. It depends where you want to plug in really. Gold is easy access, but not necessarily the most rewarding. Maybe 29 & Cold Roses will give you more long term, but it seems people have trouble with Cold Roses even though I think it's his best. If you want some real country, then his Whiskeytown album Faithless Street.
