White Stripes Vinyl

OK. this is one for White Stripes fans only, but I hope I am not the only one to find this something to look forward to

The new album “Get behind me Satan” is not being released on vinyl at the same time as the CD. But Jack & Meg will be returning to the studio, after touring, to record the whole album live and in one take. The result of this will be released on vinyl only.

Has an album ever been recorded like this before?
John.

Sounds interesting - when do they finish touring?

I don't have anything by White Stripes at the moment but I like their music.

Cheers,

Jon

Erm...up until the 1950's or so, that's how all records were made. Enter Les Paul...

In the 70's there was a brief audiophile fad for "direct to disc" recording as well (small labels like Sheffield?), which is how records were made in the beginning (Edison cylinders, 78s, etc.). Gotta love Jacks' retro faith.

I can't get into the new album, much prefer the old ones, which by the way, sound pretty good on vinyl, hopefully the "live" one will be better

de-stihl is worth a listen on Vinyl, beats Elephant hands down.
