This Easter Weekend . What will you do?

At the moment it is 9pm on thursday evening. I have the Landie packed, just have to add the food and drinks and tomorrow morning heading to Hurricane Station on The Mitchell River about two hours west of Cairns. We'll spend all Easter on the river and after good recent rains reports are that there is abundant water flowing.
Same time last year it was dry and the rivers were merely a series of waterholes full of freshwater crocs. These are small compared to the saltwater variety and harmless, just the same!!!
Hope you all have a safe and pleasant Easter.
See you after the break.

Spent most of Easter weekend on the Coromadel Peninsula at Whangamata. My family have a beach house down there. It was a great weekend as usual, lots of sunny weather, water was warm and people enjoying themselves. Saw a group of older people with towels over their shoulders walking down the road for a morning swim, surfies with their boards walking to the beach to catch the waves. Whangamata has a gorgeous 3 mile white sand beach, with a small harbour for pleasure boats at one end and an estuary at the other end. Ate fish and chips on the port road outside the takeaway, had roast lamb sandwiches for supper. drank very good wine, took the airedale for walks. Whangamata is the perfect place to relax, it always reminds what is best about New Zealand.
