Australia qualifies for World Cup

No, not the yo-yo World Cup, the football World Cup!

The final score was 1-1 on aggregate and 4-2 on penalties. The Aussie keeper Rob Schwarzer made two superhuman saves to turn the match Australia's way. They were REAL saves - he waited for the kick, then reacted. Phenomenal considering the pressure.

Man of the Match: Harry Kewell. Sheer class.

Okay, now to WIN the Cup Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Sorry, got a bit carried away there Cool

Yep, real nail biting stuff, but no doubt the best team won and Harry K was the outstanding player on the field.

83,000 people at a soccer match in Australia, how about that!

Be grateful you didn't have to play Pakistan.

Congratulations though and good to see Australia back in world cup.

Excellent game and congratulations to all my Aussie friends.

With all the excitement going on down here, you would think you had won the world cup not just qualified to play in the first round.

I suppose Australia does need a bit of an uplift after some recent sporting disappointments!!

I do hope England And Australia get drawn in the same group as that will be some real fun to watch.

Congrats on a great achievement.

What odd shaped ball??

I believe it's football as in "soccer" - that means a "proper" shape ball!

Well done Australia - it's been too long since you qualified!

I think Chris is referring to the Wallabies losing streak.

Thanks for the reminder Chris Red Face
