The Why and Wherefores

Went to The Nook in Holmfirth on Saturday night to see The why&wherefores small gig in a pub. Not the best venue but a great performance ,they play roots blues contemporary folk.
They are a four piece band
Emily Duce vocals strings guitars mandolins
Steve Jones vocals guitars harmonicas
Martin Wydell sousaphone
Marc Layton Bennett drums percussion

they are great band who give a great live performance well worth checking out.they have 2 cds out Songs from the silver band room,and Alright details on their website

In many way far more enjoyable than a big name band in a huge soulless stadium, where to see the band you have to watch the projection screens, (little more than watching a DVD of the show).

That said such shows can be great spectacles, but each setting has its good and bad points.
