Rear Surrounds to matchN-series
Posted by: Ian P on 25 November 2007
Hi,
A couple of months ago I asked for opinions on rear surround speakers to match n-sats, n-cent and n-sub, and although no suitable answers were put forward one or two others appeared to have the same requirement.
I have finally set up the system with Monitor Audio 90's filling the role of rears. These are tiny little things and I have them in a gloss black finish. They fit in visually very well indeed.
To my ears they also sound like a good fit too.
With my son'ss PS3 playing a war game the voices and explosions coming from the rear were not out of place. Watching a couple of films on Sky also gave a balanced presentation, and after the initial analysis I didn't find myself thinking much about the components of the system, which I think is a good sign that they will continue to prove a good solution over time.
I haven't got a 5.1 music source, so cannot comment on that aspect, but for the requirement of 5.1 movie/game I can happily recommend the Radius 90s as a match for the n-series.
As always audition for yourself if possible before parting with your cash!
Hope that helps.
