Don't mix I'm afraid!

Recently flooded - DO NOT use Berry/Bellings to repair your shower, if fact please avoid these companies like the plague. When they cock up they don't accept blame and don't have an effective insurance setup!

Right I've got that off my chest...

So my LP12/Lingo/72/90/hicap/CDX/Keleidhs got a right drenching. (amazing how quickly mildew grows on a lingo).

The LP12 was repairable (nice new maple plinth rather than my old groovy looking black ash job). The rest sadly was not. Naim will not repair - I guess as a safety consideration.

So now I'm thinking of 252/supercap/NAP 300 BUT what speakers. Is anyone using the small Wilson Benesch's in a Naim system??? I've hear them a few times (Audio Xcellence in Reading - crap demo room) and read the recent review in whatever mag it was but don't know of anyone else who has them.

Answers on a posting please...

I think you're refering to the ARC's. i don't own a pair but have auditioned a pair pretty thoroughly on the end of a CDX / 102 / hi / 180, and was very impressed. i thought there was a real synergie with the naim kit, showing the PRAT of the electronics, but with a little more "air" around the sound than the naim speakers give.

the only thing that put me off was the lack of bass extension, which is hardly suprising in such a small box. having said that, i'd take them over the SBL's 7 times out of 10 for clarity: listening to martin simpson and kate rusby was truly breath-taking.

SBL's are a good bet too though, and there are plenty of people on the forum who will advocate them. my dad's got a pair and i think they're great! you should be able to pick up a 2nd hand pair for a very reasonable price, whereas new, the WB's weigh in at nearly 2 and a half grand, which ain't cheap.

david antonelli, david hobbs-mallyon (sorry if i spelt that wrong david), and derek wright all use WB speakers, so i'm sure they're in a better position than me to comment......

cheers
