Porcupine Tree

Over the years you get to trust the opinions of some journalists or magazines and know that maybe 90% of the time, at least in my case, you will not regret buying albums without hearing them first.

I have also found and enjoyed loads of "new" (to me) music since joining this forum and so my question is:-

When is the expanded Coma Divine to be released???? I understand that if I try only one P.T. album it should be this.

Maybe I should buy tickets for their Wolverhampton show instead of waiting for the CD.

In a totally different direction which will probably not appeal to P.T. fans, I have just played Richard Thompson's new offering "The Old Kit Bag" for about the sixth time in two days and it was worth the wait. Can't wait to see him with a band again.

"When is the expanded Coma Divine to be released???? "

Good question. I ordered my copy from Freak Emporium eons ago. Just checked the site it still says expected release date mid-Jan 2003 Frown

Do a search for Porcupine Tree here, various people have recommended various others (though Coma Divine is still on top, like you, I've not heard it yet).

However, I can recommend Signify, got it for Xmas, its rarely been far from a CD player near me since.

The new one In Absentia has its moments but is not as good.

I'l have to hand over to one of the longer term PT fans (cue Nick, Alex and Stephen...)

I've only just discovered P.T. via the latest - 'In Absentia' which is patchy, but some tracks are superb.

Amazon are listing a remastered 'Coma Divine' as 'Special Order' but presumably this is the 'expanded' version, to which you refer?

'The Old Kit Bag' - You lucky bleeder!

I thought it wasn't out until next Monday.

I second the opinion above, In Absentia was the only PT CD I could get from 24-7. It has certainly whetted my appetite for more. I had an order with Tesco.com for Coma Divine but they couldn't give me an expected delivery date. I have bought tickets to see them in Glasgow.

Thanks for the tip! I've just been on the website and ordered "Coma Divine" on vinyl.

When I last spoke to Freak they were sure CD would be pressed in Jan and released mid-Feb.

Here's hoping . . .
