I read somewhere that Sony/Columbia had recalled the original sets with the glue problems, and reissued. Unfortunately the new sets are now listed on Amazon at around £250. Sure all these supply issues will be sorted, and the set will return to a sensible price in due course.

So you think £250 isn't a sensible proce for 71 cds?

I think GBP250 is a fair price for what you get but kindda tough when you could have gotten it for GBP120 just 2 weeks ago.

WARNING
I glanced at the Amazon reviews for this box set and it seems that many of the discs have been marked by the glue used for the single sleeves.
From Amazon.com
"Please Note:
We have been notified that there is a manufacturer defect with this product. We are working with the manufacturer to get this corrected and have the product available again. We will be notifying customers who have already ordered the product to alert them to the issue and offer a resolution."
A couple of other reviews mention the box being damaged. It sounds like this has been produced with poor quality control. Pity.

Most folks found it easy to remove the glue spots and you can now go to a Sony web-site and get an empty replacement outter box if yours got demaged in transit.
If you guys need the link pls let me know, you don't have to send the broken one back but have to send proof of purchase.
Happy Holidays ... Oliver

Sound quality of the set is very good indeed - they have selected what they believe to be the best CD sources, either US or Japanese. No complaints from me so far and I've listened to about 50% of the set ! 'Live at the Filmore' currently spinning.

I aassumee the long OOP Plugged Nickel concerts are included. That box usully fetches around £200 on ebay.

No they are not. There are two discs from the plugged nickel but it is not the complete set. So that will still continue to command good prices on eBay.quote:Originally posted by Bach_Man:

Hmm, that's a disappointment. But the set is still tremendous value.
