Fogive my ignorance but what do HDMI and DVI mean?

I have just bought a Panasonic 42" plasma and have a horrible sinking feeling that I have missed something.

Some kind knowledgeable soul please explain......

hello david , dont worry if your plasma has a dvi connection or is one of the new 6 range you will be able to buy a module with dvi/hdmi input on it soon i have read this aready. Dvi/hdmi is the best possible piture quality available at the moment from a dvd player the new dvd5 has this connection it should give you a piture thats better defined colours brighter and looks alot sharper regards red.

Thanks Red. I have the new TH42PA20BS which hopefully will allow for the upgrades you mention
