Will the n-Vi play the new format blue ray ?
Or will that be possible by a PIC upgrade?

The key here is the word "blue" (or should that be "blu") in blu-ray.....
This comes from the blue laser in a blu-ray device... which is capable of reading narrower data pits, and thus allows a tighter spiral of data pits (and, you guessed it folks, more DATA!)
to be stored on the disc.
The extra data allows more HD content.
The n-Vi doesn't have a blue laser - so mothing Naim can do to it by pic updates will enable it to read these discs.
Hope that helps clear it up.
I'm certain that Naim didn't develop it as a blu-ray machine for fear of backing the wrong horse.
I have nearly 600 DVD's, and exactly zero blu-ray discs.. I'll settle for DVD for the time being
