I wonder if we have any other 'honoured' forum members?

Congratulations Professor Cox.

Just for a change I agree with an award. If I were gay I'd fancy him too!

Re OBEs, Alan Mullery called his Other Buggers Efforts.

I'd get rid of the honours, but at least this is more of a positive re people who have received one.

Congrats prof. Over the years I can see you doing for physics and astronomy what David Attenborough has done for the natural world.

Congratulations Brian. You are one of a few new presenters, who make the un-learnable , understandable, thanks.

I wonder if the irony of a scientist getting an award from the head of a religious cult, has been completely lost...

And well done Brian, even if you do seem to have vanished from the forum.

The way the Forum is nowadays, is this any surprise?

Another week or ten days till the Carlton thread has some photos posted of the old bird after the extensive rebuild.

Then it is back to the simple life!

Best wishes from George

Not really, but Brian disappeared years ago and seems to have deleted all trace of ever having been here.

Dear Don,

Perhaps he wants absolutely nothing to do with us? Or trace that he ever did?

George

That's what I thought too....and I don't really blame him. ISTR that he hadn't quite reached his current level of fame and got a rough ride in the padded cell, even when discussing physics, astronomy etc.

How's the old Volvo ?

Cheers

Dear Don,

The old Volvo was sold last week for £150. After ten years of ownership, given that it cost me £2000, I cannot complain about a depreciation of £185 PA!

This last year has been the most expensive with a recalibrated engine management [£167] and an almost full exhaust system [£120] last Autumn, but the time has come for me to use trains and pedal power!

I can just imagine Brian Cox being given chapter and verse here!

I'm sure Brian was posting, not that long ago. Around the time of the LHC coming on line IMS.

I note he does have a link to the naim (and Royd!) web page on his site.

And he's been flying in a Hunter now! Lucky pup. Hope this one doesn't crash...
