Forum network goes intercontinental (again)

I had the distinct pleasure of hosting senior forum member Don Atkinson in my home last evening. He has family in BC's Okanagan Valley and made contact with me through the Forum. The end result was several hours of great conversation and music. Don's visit is the first time that anyone familiar with Naim has listened to my set up. Don's long time association with Naim goes all the way back to Julian. His knowledge helped me affirm my own sense that musical performance was where it should be.
It's my first opportunity to make "live" contact through the Forum and deepens my envy of those in the tight Naim community in England (and elsewhere). We new world outlanders feel isolated sometimes!
Don is a very gracious guest and I am looking forward to our next live connection, hopefully in England where he can introduce more of the real people behind the words in these Forums. We also discovered common experiences from trekking in the Canadian Rockies.

Our musical reference points were: Patricia Barber, Sara K, Julia Fischer, Allison Krauss, Dead Can Dance, Emmy Lou Harris, Linda Ronstadt, and the Indigo Africa collection.

Don, thanks making contact and taking the effort. I enjoyed meeting you and look forward to the next time.

Great part of the world this - we've enjoyed our 3 weeks here a lot.

Shame I have to go home tomorrow !
