Tosca

Guys I know this is a well worn path however thanks to the powers of ebay Toska Dehli9 arrived on vinyl today.

Its a stunning album, nothing ground breaking just full of Tosca goodness.

I'm guessing this doesn't involve Maria Callas?

Gary

This is the Tosca of 'Fuck Dub' rather than operatic fizz?

I'm sorry I don't have a clue what you are on about.

Erm, can anyone tell me if the CD version is generally fast or slow?

The bloody Vinyl seems to have amix of 45 and 33 and its very confusing.

Very tricky isn't it! I remember someone telling me that Suzuki in Dub was kinda slow on some tracks. I told them about the speed markings in the gutter...much better after that appartently Smile

Not really that impressed with delpi - prefer Suzuki and Suzuki in Dub, etc...

Anyone got Peace Orchestra - now that's good!

Yes Jay I do, another 45er and therefore I can't play it. Nice album cover though

Whats a speed marking in the gutter?

On SID in the centre there's a marking in the vinyl - 33 or 45rpm. Very hard to see!

I buy Tosca for the covers. The music's repetitive drivel dressed up as something cool.

That's, um, interesting. Thanks for sharing Alex

I could sell you my covers and keep the vinyl. Smile

Yeah...well it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Dehli 9 is drivel (but has a nice cover).

Differnt tastes of Honey is also drivel. Everything else is superb.

If you ever get the chance to see a live 'session,' (flex.at), the sets are very interesting, especially with Sugar B doing the MC'ing. Check out some of the 'Dub-Club' cd's if you like the Tosca/peace Orchestra projects.

Whew! And here I thought someone was going to extol the virtues of Puccini's trash!

No, that was Richard Harris. Marcus Aurelius died a couple thousand years ago.

Ahh.
I was thinking of Marcus Aurelius Maximus, also known as 'Spaniard' to his mates.

Thanks for putting me straight on that.

I used to go to school with a guy with that name. Wonder if it's the same guy?

I didn't like Dehli9 either. Perhaps Gareth is the only one here stoned enough to "get" it?
