Interesting. Do they sound any better than the regular discs?

I finally caved and replaced my vinyl 75-85 with the replica. As a replica they are excellent. Sound quality? Hmm, not so sure. Need to live with it for a good while having been so used to the other. Initial impressions not particularly favourable. Sound like it was recorded in wind tunnel!!!

Don't think the sound quality is any better but I'm a sucker for these mini LPs.

Just bought Born in the USA and The Wild and the Innocent mini LPs. They are soooo cute!

You can't beat the original Japan for Europe or Japan for the US pressings. Best versions I have heard yet. They aren't as strident as the current pressings.

On the few duplicates I have, the Jap CDs are better. I still can't help but feel it's at least partly the actual disc itself. Check your Jap CDs, bet they're perfectly round with no bumps/dried goo around the edge. UK CDs though, are bumpy around the edge with the dried glue used to stick the laminates together. There is an expensive lathe you can buy to trim discs, as making them 'rounder' apparently makes them play better. These Jap CD's are already smooth edged and closer to properly round, so this may be an explanation.
