Burn-in Question

Posted by: Steve B on 28 January 2003

There’s been a few threads recently regarding mains spurs and burn-in. I’ve never noticed this burn-in with cables or spurs myself although I don’t dispute that it occurs. Does anyone know why a copper conductor burns-in? I can understand new amps containing semiconductors, capacitors etc taking time to burn-in, but what is actually happening to a copper wire?

Just curious.
