Calling Weiss Dac2 owners

Which Naim cd player have you compared or replaced with the Weiss Dac2?

I am making arrangement to demo both the Weiss and Naim dac in my system. I have a Empirical Audio USB convertor for the Naim, and plan to use firewire for the Weiss.

Hopefully, either one of these units will be better than the CDX2 and come close to the CDSII.

When I get the Naim Dac, I'll try and borrow a MAC to get on board with the new developments. I'm just happy to see so many are beyond bit perfect and have moved to discussing players, cables, interfaces etc. We're all better off regardles of which bits we choose. Smile

I'm just happy that we are beyond CD transports having to be in the same box as DACs. Winker

Options are always good but have to admit that I still prefer my favorite CDPs with CDs. I'll need to compare again with the Naim DAC as I had neither CDP up at the time it was here. To each his own. Smile Vive la difference but the solutions to one box were long in coming. Read Weiss's 'Music Playback From A Computer' and it's apparent he felt the same. I do like his references to ASIO and Amarra. Same sort of thing that have been debated here for some time. Winker

Amarra can be good. But PV makes it look/feel a little clunky by comparison. Be interesting to see what you make of it. Always good to have options, although CD (for me) stopped being that a while ago. Good as it was at the time of purchase.

Just glancing at the CA site it looks like a new version of Amarra is out soon, with improved sq and gapless playback, anyone heard the new version?
