Not sure if this is the answer to F1 qualifying.

I can see
this turning into even more of a lottery than ever. If the problem is that the pole-sitter is just the lighter car, why not let the top ten cars in Q3 start the race on whatever fuel load they want?

Sounds like another mad ass scheme to me Tony.
I preferred the old days of 1 hour Friday and 1 hour Saturday with the best time getting pole. This gave you a chance to redeem a bit of bad luck due to weather or whatever. Also for the people at the GP you get to see 2 hours of qualifying. The only change would be to force all teams to be out in each quarter hour period to avoid the long periods of nothing happening that used to happen.
Cheers

What could be more interesting for F1 is Mr Ecclestones anticipated divorce.
Could take all of his renowned negotiation skills.
So this could have a big impact.

Scott,
My preference exactly!
And, I know it was a waste of money, but I just loved the old 'handgrenade' qualifying engines of the turbo era. The 1,000 mile F1 engine is a great achievement, but its boring!

And now
this. Why not just revert to the old points system of 9,6,4.3.2.1? The current system was bought in to penalise Schumacher, now they don't like it.
Grand Prix = Big Prize, so why not pay the drivers say £100k per year, then a fortune for a win? That's more in keeping with my ideas.
Barmy politics in F1... I love it!

BE is totally barking at times. How the hell anyone can "negotiate " with him is a mystery if you do get answer from him what it means who knows? Remind you of anyone around hear?
