After listening to all the Mana/Hutter/Quadraspire wars, I’ve come to the conclusion that my amp sounds way best …sitting on the floor

Guy,
do you have a carpetted floor?
cheers, Martin

Guy says
quote:
Mana/Hutter/Quadraspire wars
Is there any war here ? Mana involved ?
I hadn't noticed.

Guy,
I salut you for making the "sonic" choice and saving money at the same time. What sort of amp have you got?

I have my components on a big heavy Ikea carving board, which is about 1" bigger in length and width than the Naim big boxes and about 1.1/2" thick. Between the board and the shelf I use either a couple of jiffy bags or sheets of bubble wrap.
Cheap and cheerful - and it works. A different approach to the grounding vibration a la Mana, but I like it.

I think you mean the "lack" table. About £16 a throw. I have long considered a project of shortening their legs and stacking them to see how it sounds.
I left my previous one in Canada and recently bought a new one - presently occupied by the business end of my Naim dealers NAP 500.
They work pretty well for LP12's though a wall mounted table is better with springy floorboards.
