Qute won't start DAB scan

Posted by: 0rangutan on 16 October 2010

I traded my Uniti for a Qute yesterday.
Very happy but with one notable exception.
The DAB scan for stations doesn't work. I select ok/list to start the DAB Rescan, the Qute then states "0% Found 0" but the % never moves on (I have left it for 30 mins).
This is not a reception issue (Uniti DAB worked fine on same aerial) - it just doesn't start looking.
I will raise with Naim support, but thought I would post here first in case anyone has solved the same problem (or I am just being thick).

Hi John

That's strange, just rescanned mine and works fine although I only have an FM aerial but it picks up 32 DAB stations from it.
I had problems when I first connected, terrible interference, but found that the coaxial downlead had become faulty although I had been using it for years for the TV.
Sorry can't be of more use, hope you resolve quickly, the radio is truly excellent so worth persevering with.

Regards
Peter

Same problem not had time to chase Naim yet, otherwise I am delighted with UnitiQute & Serve

Thanks Richard.

Good (I think!) to know I'm not the only one.
Any other Qute users experiencing this?
Any owners who haven't bothered even trying DAB (I understand) care to see whether their's works?

Still waiting on a response from my query to Naim.

The DAB scan worked just fine on the Qute I borrowed a while back - found a good number of stations in just a few minutes. Not that the news helps you much!

(and like Peter RN, I didn't have anything other than an FM aerial plugged in)

It turns out that Naim are not aware of this problem.

I took the Qute back to my dealers today and they were able to easily reproduce the problem and confirm it as a genuine issue.

I left 10 minutes later with a brand new one in exchange and all is now working fine.

Richard (and anyone else who experiences this issue), I suggest taking yours back in and getting a replacement.

Hopefully this isn't a widespread problem as the Qute is likely to sell rather well.
