It's good to see Wilco. The rest is total bollocks as usual.

Both the nouns 'Curate' and 'Curator' and verb 'curate' derive from the same Latin word, cura - 'care'.

The Curator is the person with the care of a museum, gallery, exhibition, etc.

The Curate (Latin Curatus) is, properly speaking, the priest invested with the 'Care - or Cure (cura) - of Souls' of a parish. In this sense, this technically means the Parish Priest (whether a Rector or Vicar). And - in the Anglican tradition - it is in this sense that the Book of Common Prayer uses the word Curate.

However, over the years, 'Curate' has come to be the common usage for the Assistant Curate - the priest or deacon assisting with the Cure/Care of Souls in the parish(es). In some parishes, however, the term Assistant Curate remains.

In the Church of England anyway, these days it is pretty unlikely that the Assistant Curate is likely to be a spotty (or bearded) youth, the average age for ordination being the mid-40s.
