Pink Flag

Where were you when Wire's Pink Flag came out? -I was a poor 19 year old who just dropped out of college. Thirty years ago I was studying to be a teacher, but I decided that I couldn't teach anything to anyone. My parents were devestated, because my father had always wanted to become a teacher himself, but he didn't have the chance.

Bought a nice reissue today that looks just like the original. The sleeve even says 'Available on cassette'.

Have fun!

I would have been about 16 either pretending to revise for my o-levels or being amazed that I had passed some of 'em! Still got my original copy. Great band.

Cheers

I was at University and listening to lots of great new bands like Wire and the even more superb (IMO) Desperate Bicycles.

17 and doing A levels. Seriously into music. I remember going down to HMV in Cov to buy the album on release date. There are very few I remember actually buying the day it came out; DSOM, Captain Fantastic are two of teh others. Now I wait 'till it is cheap on Amazon - old age is catching up with me! Anyone interested in Wire in the 70's might have a look here

I was selling the album to the unsuspecting public. I loved the album but had to play it that much to people got sick of it.

Ok I won't lie to you guys...
I was only six and at infant school! Wouldn't have known Pink Flag if somebody had hit me round the head with a copy!
Stunning album. (As were the two that followed it.)
