New Natalie Merchant?

Posted by: Bruce Woodhouse on 13 October 2003

A month (or more) ago I was reading reviews and interviews about new album called 'The Carpenters Daughter' or similar. Since then I've not seen it anywhere, no mention on Amazon and my local shop has no idea of any release. I seem to remember reading that it was on a minor label and for the initial few weeks was only available direct from them but I cannot find these details.

Has anyone got any clues?

Hi Bruce

I see what you mean, the website just takes you round in circles. The CD is available from Amazon.com USA at $14.99 plus postage.
It is also available as an imported CD promotion at www.vinylexchange.co.uk for £20 try

I am not sure if I have posted the link correctly, but a quick search will clarify.

It finally arrived.

For anyone intrested it has a very traditional feel with English/American folks songs generally simply played and sung. The voice is in good order mostly and it a very pleasant, if not ground breaking, album. Reminds me of Gillian Welch 'Soul Journey' somewhat.
