Autumn election for UK?

Dear Friends,

Mr Brown is said to be possibly considering an Autumn General Election.

Do people think this would be a good thing?

Do the Tory party stand a chance of anything but a bloody nose in light of the fact they they remain in disarray, and Mr Brown is currently in the traditional "honey-moon" period?

Are the Lib-dems any more credible than previously as more than a third place party [under the present electoral system of first past the post]?

Kindest regards from Fredrik

Thus far Brown has impressed me. He has not bent over for Bush unlike lickspittle Bliar and he is urging the UN to keep its promises over tackling world poverty. I would vote for him over Cameron as of this moment. An early election is a good thing imo - unelected leaders have no business being in power without a mandate from the people.

Dear Acad, I share your view on this in all aspects. Give the man a mandate and he can govern with authority. He has made mistakes, but point me to a politician who has not and I will show you a saint! Fredrik
